Police have descended on Bilston town centre and taped off a street after two men were stabbed following a group fight. West Midlands Police was called to the Market Tavern pub on Church Street just after 1am this morning (October 30).

Two men, aged 20 and 35, were found with stab wounds and taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Forensics are working at the scene today and officers are examining CCTV from the area. Businesses have been told not to open in the area today.

Extra officers will be patrolling the town centre to offer reassurance to locals, police said.

Police appealed for anyone with information to get in touch. A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk, or call 101, quoting log number 371 of 30 October.

"Alternatively to pass on what you know without giving your details, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
