Road reopened 13 hours later

The A417 closed at the Air Balloon pub following the fatal collision (file picture)Traffic was stopped on the A417 for 13 hours following a fatal multi-vehicle collision. The road was closed in both directions from Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning.
The crash was reported on the road between the Cowley roundabout and the Air Balloon roundabout at around 4.20pm on Monday afternoon. It was fully reopened at around 5.30am on Tuesday.
National Highways put in place diversions on Monday and warned that the road was going to be closed for some time. Police worked through the night on collision investigation work.
