Traffic was held for a number of hours
Traffic was stopped this evening (Friday) on the M25 anticlockwise following an incident between J17 Rickmansworth and J16 M40. The road was been closed at around 5pm to attend to the incident just after J17.
National Highways informed motorists via Twitter about this incident. Their tweet read: "The #M25 is closed anti-clockwise between J17 (#Rickmansworth) and J16 (#M40) due to a @HertsPolice led incident. Emergency services are on scene. Please allow plenty of extra travelling time and avoid the area if possible. More details to follow."
A traffic monitoring system update read: "M25 anticlockwise closed, queueing traffic due to police incident from J17 A412 Denham Way (Maple Cross) to J16 M40."
