More than 200 people have shared their views on the BirminghamLive Facebook page after this morning's news that police are investigating after reports of disorder and "gunshots" in Sutton Coldfield.
Andrew Lilley said: "No surprise really, over the past 20 years I've watched the whole of the west Midlands go downhill, Sutton was bound to end up this way too. The sad fact is its only going to get worse."
James Little disagreed, stating: "Anyone saying Sutton has gone downhill and they don't feel safe should really get out and see more places."
Ollie Maddy added: "Going to get a whole lot worse with the cost of living crisis."

All car parks in Sutton Coldfield, including Newhall Walk car park, are now back open. If you're planning on doing your shopping, road closures have been removed and traffic is flowing freely.

Schoolboys ‘shot at’ in Sutton Coldfield by ‘laughing’ yobs
There have been multiple incidents of violence in Sutton Coldfield over recent months with one estate rocked by two separate stabbing incidents. These incidents took place in the town centre and surrounding areas. Just last week Bishop Walsh School students from Sutton Coldfield were indiscriminately shot at by ‘laughing’ yobs in a car. West Midlands Police confirmed they were investigating. Read more here.
Sutton Coldfield trouble hotspot as police given special powers
There has been sporadic trouble in Sutton Coldfield town centre and its surrounding areas in recent months. Special police powers were introduced in Sutton Coldfield last month after "gatherings and anti-social behaviour" in the town. Offices said a dispersal order would be in place from May 27. The Section 35 dispersal order gives officers greater powers to break up groups congregating in the area. Read more here.

Queen Street, which runs through the town centre, was sealed off on Saturday morning as police investigate disorder on The Parade. The cordon was lifted shortly before 11am.
Earlier, a West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Road closures are in place in Sutton Coldfield while we investigate disorder on The Parade in the early hours of this morning.
"A member of the public reported hearing gunshots and officers arrived at the scene within minutes.
"We are speaking to witnesses and looking at CCTV of the area. One man reported being punched in the face, however he did not require hospital treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
"Anyone with information and has not spoken to us should contact us via Live Chat on our website quoting log 436 of 18/6. Information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
